Edition 5 argues that every piece of data has to justify its own existence. This site holds itself to that.
- No analytics, no trackers, no ads
- This site runs no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no advertising, and no social-media embeds. Share what you read by copying the URL.
- No accounts, no cookies
- There is nothing to log into. The only thing stored in your browser is your light/dark theme choice (in localStorage, never transmitted).
- Fonts
- Pages currently load typefaces from Google Fonts, which sees a standard font request from your browser. Self-hosting the fonts to remove that third party is on the roadmap.
- Hosting
- The site is static and served by its host (currently GitHub Pages), which processes IP addresses to deliver pages, as any web host does. The publication itself receives no visitor data.
- Email subscription
- If you subscribe by email once delivery is live, your address is used to send editions and nothing else — no resale, no enrichment, no "partners." Unsubscribing deletes it.
- RSS
- The feed is the most private way to follow: your reader fetches it directly and this site learns nothing about you.
